Mary Waybright

February 12, 1940 — October 15, 2018

Mary Bell Waybright, 78, of Churchville passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home.

She was born February 12, 1940 in Possum Trot (Highland County) a daughter of the late Neta Grace (Simmons) and Ray Wilson Wimer. She married Harlan Eugene Waybright on April 1, 1953.

A selfless and caring person, Mrs. Waybright was a faithful Christian to her Lord and member of Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church.  During her working years as a Home Health Care Provider with Augusta Medical Center, she enjoyed to witness and share her love of Christ with those she helped. Above all, she will be remembered for her focus on family -taking care of them was truly her greatest joy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gary Wayne Wimer; and a sister, Helen Whitelaw.

Surviving family members include her husband of 65 years, Harlan Eugene Waybright of Churchville; three daughters, Kathy S. Hart and Gary McClung of Troutville, Dianna C. Gordon and husband, Edward of Swoope and Lisa A. Kuykendall of Churchville; two sons, H. David Waybright of Staunton and L. Shane Waybright and wife, Sue of Churchville; six grandchildren Ericka Martin, Rodney Elkins, Chris Waybright, Brandy Lyle, Seth Tumer, Madison Simmons; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers Guy Wilson Wimer and Garland Ray Wimer, both of Staunton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 12 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 at Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church with the Rev. Dennis Sites officiating.

Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Rodney Elkins, Seth Tumer, Chris Waybright, Christian Elkins, Damion Tumer, Doug Conrad, Mark Waybright and Jim Whitelaw.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends in attendance.

Following the burial, family will receive friends during a meal of fellowship at the church.
