Mary Siron

Mary Bess Siron, 86, a resident of The Cedars of Charlottesville for several months, formerly of Monterey, died on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born September 19, 1911 at Highland County, a daughter of William W. and Jessie (Wilson) Samples.

She belonged to Seybert Chapel United Methodist Church, and was a cook at Highland High School for 10 years.

Her husband, Ray R. Siron, died on May 14, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Armstrong, a sister and three brothers.

Surviving are a daughter, Betty Beverage of Palmyra; two sons, Grant Siron of Front Royal and Gary Samples of Falls Church; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Haley. Burial will be in the Beverage Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Dever, Rudolph Siron, Jack, Wayne and Bobby Beverage and Carson Ralston.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral homee.
