Mary Chloe Rexrode, of Harrisonburg, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home.
She was born in Sugar Grove, W.Va., a daughter of the late Ella Ruth (Rexrode) and John William Rexrode.
Miss Rexrode was baptized and raised in Crummett Run Church of the Brethren and there remained a lifelong member. A live-in caregiver and nanny to many families, Mary had additionally retired from James Madison University after 17 years of service with housekeeping. Outside of work Miss Rexrode enjoyed traveling to Roanoke to visit and vacation with her sister, Leah.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Dr. Luther E., Richard W. and W. Herbert Rexrode.
She is survived by her brother, Warren Rexrode of Sugar Grove, W.Va.; sister, Leah Elmore of Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as special friend, Janice Shoemaker, of Harrisonburg.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
