Mary “Lottie” Ratcliffe, 84, of Bolar, died Monday, January 3, 2000 at the residence where she’d been living, the home of granddaughter Kim and her husband, Danny Rexrode.
She was born May 16, 1915 at Highland County, a daughter of Kenny and Lila (Gum) Simmons.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenton Harper Ratcliffe, on November 7, 1963; two sisters; and a brother. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Paul Terry of Bolar; a son, Hubert K. Ratcliffe of Bolar; a former daughter-in-law, Lucille Ratcliffe of Hot Springs; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Bradford Moles and Mike Puffenbarger. Burial will be in the Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Carl Moyers, Jimmy Varner, Dwight Walton, Eddie Turner, Roger Williams, Arlie Williams Jr., Eugene Ratcliffe, Kenny Robertson, John Rexrode and Rick Baldwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
