Mary Ann Kuzniar

Mary Ann (McLaughlin) Kuzniar, 81, of Staunton and formerly of Alexandria, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023 at Brookdale - Staunton.

She was born October 31, 1941 in Mustoe, a daughter of the late Clem Kenton and Clara Agnes (Terry) McLaughlin.

A member of Hamilton Chapel Church and proud native of Mustoe, Mary Ann left the area to seek work in Washington, D.C. There she dedicated 46 years to a career with the National Association of Letter Carriers Health Benefit Plan Agency, ultimately retiring as a supervisor. Following retirement, Mary Ann traveled extensively throughout the States and often joked she “enjoyed some.” She loved reading, spending time with her cats, as well as attending library and community events. Upon her decline in health, she relocated to Brookdale – Staunton, where she was known as the “social butterfly” and enjoyed their many community activities.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Allen Kuzniar; as well as her special cousin, Jeff McLaughlin.

She is survived by several cousins and special friends.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Buddy Hunt, Dean Hunt, Mike Colaw, David Colaw, Billy Webb, Lowell Terry, Tommy Terry, Andy Terry and Bruce Avery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
