STAUNTON, VA Mary Ardella Botkin, 71, of Staunton, went to be with her Heavenly Father, and husband, Franklin, Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Avante at Waynesboro. She was born May 6, 1943 in Staunton a daughter of the late Harry Lusby and Mary Dorothy (Huffman) Moran. On July 4, 1965 she married Franklin "Nanny Goat" DeWitt Botkin, who passed away on June 9, 2012. She was also predeceased by her brother, Roger Lee Moran. Mrs. Botkin was a homemaker and loved her roses. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Botkin of Radford and Theresa Wooddell and husband, Don of West Augusta; son, Mike Botkin and wife, Amy of Staunton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and her brother, Marvin Moran and wife, Ann of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Boger officiating. Burial will follow in McKendree Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Carter, Vincent Charnick, Jr., Larry Botkin, Stevie Huffman, Jimmy Hays and Jeffrey Hebb. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place #306, Charlottesville, VA 22902.
