Marjorie Wade Hensley Harold, 88, of 847 Indian Mound Road, Staunton, and formerly the Mill Gap community of Highland County died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 19, 1924 in Valley Center a daughter of the late Hurdle and Mae Winston (Wade) Hensley. Mrs. Harold received her nursing degree on March 5, 1972 and went on to work as a nurse at VSDB, ASR, and ultimately King's Daughters' Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Green Hill United Methodist Church, where she played piano for many years, and the Sarah Murray Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Harold was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 51 years, Paul Kerns Harold; a son, Paul Kenton Harold; a grandson, Jerry D. Davis, II and a sister, Kathleen Hensley Gutshall Gum. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Davis and husband, Jerry, with whom she made her home and Rita Pullin of Waynesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy Harold and wife, Mary of Mill Gap; seven grandchildren and spouses, Nick Davis and wife, Della, Rob Pullin and wife, Missy, all of Staunton, Wade Harold and wife, Beth of Mill Gap, Heather Harold Schildt and husband, Brent of Denver, CO, Jason Harold of Warrenton, Lee Harold and wife Debbie, of Linden and Vicky Harold, also of Warrenton; five great grandchildren, Meghan and Hannah Davis, Jacob, Paulina and Colton Pullin, all of Staunton; numerous nieces and nephews as well as a special caregiver, Chrissey Cassidy. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Green Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Erin Geoffrion officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Harold's grandsons will act as active pallbearers and granddaughters and great-grandchildren as honorary pallbearers. In the absence of the family, the funeral home will receive friends from the hours of 6-8 p.m., Monday, as well as throughout the day. Additionally, the family will receive friends following the service in the Green Hill United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
