Margie H. Simmons

Margie H. Simmons, 82, of Monterey died Wednesday night, July 6, 1994 at Bath County Community Hospital.

She was born October 28, 1911 at Williamsville, daughter of Columbus and Melinda (Simmons) Halterman.

She was a member of the Monterey Presbyterian Church. She was the cook at the Monterey Hotel for 40 years and at the Monterey School and at High's Restaurant.

Her husband, James Simmons, died in 1947.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy (Gray) Shaffier of Warm Springs; two sons, Wilber G. Lester of Cleveland, Ohio and Andrew N. Simmons of Monterey; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. C. William Cox.

Burial will be in the Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Keith, Paul and Harry J. Simmons, Leray Rexrode, Norman Bayne, Arlie Propst and Elmer Waybright.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
