Mabel Wilson Bussard, 87, of Monterey, died Wednesday, August 29, 2001 at Augusta Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1914 at Doe Hill, a daughter of Harmon Irving and Mary Louella (Siron) Wilson.
Mrs. Bussard was a member of the Christ Science Church in Boston. She managed Montvallee Motel in Monterey until she was 80 years old.
On December 25, 1934, she married Guy A. Bussard, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1985. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, Dean E. Folks; two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pattie Dawn and Charles E. Folks of Woodbridge; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kittie D. and David VanAlstyne of Dumfries; Swain M. and Alice Folks of Woodbridge and Marsha D. and Christopher Sluss of Raleigh, N.C.; a granddaughter-in-law Terrie Folks of Woodbridge; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Daniel and Hannah Folks and Kaitlin and Ryan VanAlstyne; and two sisters, Laura Beverage of Rockledge, Fla. and Mae Shumate of McDowell.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2001 at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn.
A private burial will be held in Big Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
