M. Bowers

M. Evelyn Bowers, 83, of Staunton and formerly of Doe Hill, died on Saturday, April 20, 1996 at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born on September 23, 1912 at Doe Hill, a daughter of Oliver P. Pitsenbarger and Macy Wilson.

Her husband, William C. Bowers, died on July 28, 1968.

She was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary Hull of Churchville and Louie Gutshall of Staunton; two brothers-in-law, Blake Hott of Middlebrook, Va. and Sheldon Bowers of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Riley Smith, with burial in Doe Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Eckard, Bill Hott, Allen, Eddie and Jerry Gutshall, David Wimer, Sheldon Bowers and Dennis Hull.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friend from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
