Lura Hook

Lura Dyer (Hiner) Hook, 94, of Doe Hill, died Wednesday morning, May 31, 1995 in the Bridgewater Home.

She was born February 6, 1901 in Doe Hill, a daughter of Jared A. and Rebecca (Judy) Hiner.

In 1929, she married H. Burton Hook, who preceded here in death on June 5, 1959.

She was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church and was an honorary member of the United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of the Wyoming Seminar in Kingston, Pa.

Surviving are three nieces and a a nephew and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Leta Margaret Hiner on September 27, 1994.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Doe Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Timothy Strock with burial in the Hiner Family Cemetery in Doe Hill.

Pallbearers will be Eddie, Bert and John Moyers Jr., David Shifflett, Delbert Rexrode Jr., Alfred, Scott and Larry Armstrong.

Friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell at anytime.
