Lucille Evans Dudley

Lucille Evans Dudley, 84, of Monterey died at her home in Iva, S.C., on October 15th,1992.

She was born November 11th 1907, in Iva South Carolina, and was a daughter of the late Brooks B. and Bessie Wiles Evans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Dudley, in 1984 and her son, George Evans Dudley, in 1985.

Mrs. Dudley was an elder in the Pisgah Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Beverly Chapter No. 78 O.E.S. and the Franklin Chapter No. 138 O.E.S.

She came to Virginia in 1926 to attend Shenandoah College in Dayton and was a school teacher in the countries of Highland and Augusta and was a member of the Highland Bath Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Monterey Garden Club.

Mrs. Dudley is survived by a daughter- in-law, Sue K. Dudley of Monterey; a sister, Ruby Burton of Iva, S.C.; a brother, Louie B. Evans of Iva, S.C; and two nephews, Bill Burton of Iva, S.C., and Ray Burton of Little Rock, Ark.

A graveside service will be conducted at Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. C. William Cox. The Casket will not be open.
