Lorraine Bussard

Lorraine Simmons Bussard, 78, died Sunday, December 30, 2001 at her residence.

She was born October 26, 1923, at Blue Grass a daughter of William Pearly and Maggie (Calhoun) Simmons.

On April 6, 1947, she married Erwin Lewis Bussard.

She was a member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker and former employee of High’s Restaurant.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Donnie Glenn and Russell Lewis Bussard and a brother William Marvin Simmons.

Survivors include her husband, Erwin L. Bussard of Monterey; three daughters, Betty J. Tracy of Arbovale, W.Va., Janet E. Hunt and Lois W. White, both of Monterey; a son, Raymond Allen Bussard of Monterey; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral by the Rev. Jerry Ginn with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Dougie and Rocky Bussard, Dean and Randy Hunt, Gary and Mike Tracy.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 268, Monterey or the Highland County Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 267, Monterey, Va. 24465.
