Lillian (Weeks) Wilson, 85, of Monterey, died Monday, May 16, 1994 at King's Daughters' Hospital.
She was born on March 8, 1909 at Monterey, a daughter of John W. and Belle (Simmons) Weeks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Jones Wilson, after 56 years of marriage. They were married on July 13, 1937 at Monterey United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Monterey High School and a 1929 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Nursing. She was a private duty nurse in Highland and adjoining counties. She taught elementary school during World War II as an emergency teacher and home nursing classes at her home and in school.
She was a lifelong member of the Monterey United Methodist Church , the PTA and community affairs.
Surviving are a son, John Frank Wilson of Hampton; a sister, Edna Jennings of Staunton; a brother, Warren J. Weeks of Crozet; daughter-in-law, Carol Wilson of Hampton; and two grandchildren, John Michael of Norcross, Ga. and Suzanne Wilson of Hampton.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Monterey United Methodist Church by the Revs. Robert Haley and Norman Compton, with burial at Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell.
