Lillian W. Whitecotton, 87, of Blue Grass, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Augusta Medical Center. She was born January 9, 1920 at Blue Grass, a daughter of the late Joseph Brown and Mattie Ethel (Bowers) Wagner.
Mrs. Whitecotton was a member of the Forks of the Water United Brethren Church. She was a homemaker and an excellent country cook. She had retired from Aileen, Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Whitecotton on February 5, 1993; two sisters, Virgie Fleisher and Elva Propst and a brother, Fred Wagner.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry W. and Jeanie Whitecotton of Blue Grass; two grandchildren, Travis Whitecotton of Harrisonburg and Karen Whitecotton of Front Royal and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Andre Crummett. Burial will be at Blue Grass Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Ed Samuels, Kevin Wagner, Willie Green, Delmar Vandevander, Alan Puffenbarger and Charlie Ralston.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends at the home of Larry and Jeanie and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
