Lillian (Briscoe) Wagner, 84, of Monterey, died on Thursday evening, January 27, 1994 at Oak Lea Nursing Home, Harrisonburg.

She was born May 17, 1909 at Mill Gap, a daughter of John H. and Nora (Williams) Briscoe.

On November 21, 1931 she was married to William Bunker Wagner, who died on October 5, 1970.

She was a member of Monterey Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Church. She and her husband operated Wagner's Service Station for 30 years.. She was a member of Mountain View Extension Homemakers Club and Monterey Senior Citizens.

Surviving are a daughter, Joyce W. Cox and husband, E.W. Jr. of Monterey; a son, John W. Wagner and wife, Paige G. of Staunton; grandchildren, Nancy Sweitzer of Monterey, William A. Wagner of Staunton, and Leisa Wagner of Blacksburg; a sister, Abbie B. Blagg; and three children.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. C. William Cox and Jerry Ginn, with burial at Monterey Cemtery.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Hunt, Darwin King, Billy Pritt, Joe Simmons, John Reynolds, Jack Warner, Swanson Dowling, E. T. Sweitzer Jr. and Eldon Galford.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 at the funeral home.
