Lester Edward McCoy

Lester Edward McCoy, 91, of Churchville, formerly of Doe Hill, died Wednesday evening, June 1, 1994 at Liberty House Nursing Home in Harrisonburg.

He was born December 23, 1902 at Doe Hill, a son of John Edward and Daisy Marshall McCoy.

Mr. McCoy was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation before his retirement in Highland County.

He is survived by a daughter, Virginia Wimer of Churchville, with whom he lieved before going to the nursing home; a sister, Mary Maybush of Staunton; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Timothy Strock. Burial will be in Doe Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Lou Smith, Leo McCray, Dale Beverage, Ray Eagle, Carroll Mitchell and Alfred Armstrong.

Honorary pallbearers will be fiends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
