Leslie Moyers

Leslie Hugh Moyers, 76, of Monterey, died Monday morning, May 15, 1995 at his home.

He was born May 21, 1918 in Pendleton County, WV, a son of Martin Hugh and Gertrude (Mauzy) Moyers.

On October 19, 1943, he married Thelma Colaw.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Monterey Lions Club, and was a director of Mountain Soil and Water Conservation District.

He attended West Virginia University where he studied forestry for two years. He later was employed by Peoples Life Insurance Co. in Highland and Augusta counties for several years and then became a Soil Conservation Technician with the United States Department of Agriculture. He retired after 25 years of service..

In addition to his widow of Monterey, he is serviced by one son, Martin Russell Moyers of Monterey; one sister, Louise Rexrode of Bridgewater; two brothers, Lacy Moyers of Lynchburg and Harlan Moyers of Franklin, WV.

The body was cremated. A private burial will be held.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Monterey United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Haley.
