Leona Hoover

Leona S. Hoover, age 84, formerly of Harrisonburg and Doe Hill, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at Sunrise Assisted Living Facility in Falls Church.
Mrs. Hoover, formerly Leona Simmons was born November 25, 1921 in Moyers, WV and was the daughter of the late Pearl and Dora Simmons. She was retired after many years with Kawneer in Harrisonburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Herbert Hoover and a sister, Blanch Schrader.
She is survived by three daughters, Bettie Pryor of Vienna, Ann Lotts of Mantua, OH and Sue Burow of Springfield; a brother, Paul Simmons of Harrisonburg; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pastor Elmer Malcolm will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be private.
