Leola Grace Ritchie, 95, of Blue Grass, died Friday, February 22, 2002 at the Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville.
She was born August 30, 1906 at Blue Grass, a daughter of Alexander Lee and Ida Hinkle Wimer.
Mrs. Ritchie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Blue Grass united Methodist Church. She was an honorary member of the Blue Grass Ruritan Club, serving as a member for 42 years, and a member of the Highland Senior Citizens.
On September 8, 1926, she married Ivan Raymond Ritchie, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1979. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, John Ritchie Alcock.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Emmett Alcock of Richmond and Audrey and Douglas Simmons of Stuarts Draft; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Charlotte Ritchie of Verona, Raymond and Betty Ritchie of Richmond and Frank and Corena Ritchie of Glen Allen; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nephews, Bob Stover of Fishersville and Tom Stover of Tennessee.
A funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 23 at Blue Grass United Methodist church by the Rev. Richard Gibson.
Burial was in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Pallbearers were members of the family.
