Lawrence Fertig

MONTEREY, VA Lawrence Lee "Toby" Fertig, age 56, of Monterey passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Fertig was born December 6, 1957 a son of the late Nathan J. Fertig and Creola "Alberta" (Miller) Moyers. Toby was an outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Equally, he enjoyed car rides with friends and time spent on his computer listening to music, gaming, and socializing. Mr. Fertig attended Highland Baptist Church. He is survived by his stepfather, Gene Moyers of Monterey; brother, Chris Hefner of Petersburg, WV; sister, Joy Moyers and husband, Kyle of Monterey; three nephews, Eddie, Barry, and Perry Moyers; niece, Melissa Hunt; five great-nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Penny and Hubert Ryder. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hightown Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eddie, Perry, and Barry Moyers, Chris Hefner, Delmas Lowry, Greg Sullenberger, David Armstrong, and Hubert Ryder. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland County Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
