Larry Wayne Miller

Larry Wayne Miller, 59, of Staunton, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024 at his home.

He was born June 13, 1964, a son of Peggy (Morris) Huffman of Staunton and the late Richard Lee Miller, Sr.

Prior to his decline in health, Larry worked as a roofing contractor and self-employed carpenter. He will be remembered for his work ethic and pride he took in a job well done. When he was not working, he loved camping, attending truck pulls, picking on people, and especially enjoyed wrapping Christmas gifts. Above all, Larry will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, as well as a man who loved and lived a carefree life.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Raelyn Gray Ryder; sister, Diane Woods; and brothers Ronnie and Chris Miller.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Sharon R. Miller of Staunton; step-children, whom he helped to raise, Charles Burger Jr. and wife Katreena of Covington, Samantha Ryder and husband, Rex of Mountain Grove and Anthony Kay and wife, Morgan of Goshen; brothers, Richard “Dickie” Miller Jr. of Dayton and Terry Miller of Amherst; sister, Cathy Grogg and husband, Kevin of Bridgewater; special uncle, Claude Morris of Grottoes; grandchildren, Chandler Keyser and Harper Leigh Kay; as well as his fur babies, Tanner and Lana.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2024 in the Robertson Family Cemetery, McGuffin Road, Warm Springs with speaker Tiffany Myers officiating.

Family and friends attending the service will serve as active pallbearers.   

The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive family and friends wishing to pay their respects throughout the day Saturday, February 24th, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the funeral home in McDowell.
