ALACHUA, FL Kristin (Botkin) Tilt, 64, of Alachua, FL passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015. Kristin was born in Headwaters, the only daughter of the late Gilbert Lacy and Lucy Henrietta (McCray) Botkin. She grew up in Falls Church, VA but spent her adult life in Georgia. She was an Executive Assistant for many years to Robert Holder of Holder Corporation. She got an up close view of the formation of the Atlanta Olympics through Mr. Holder's involvement in ACOG. She was very involved with the Marietta and South Cobb Jaycees, serving as President of the South Cobb Jaycees and Jaycee Women. Additionally, she was a life member of the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps and served as its first female Commander. Kristin was baptized and raised in Headwaters Presbyterian Chapel and attended Grace United Methodist Church in Gainesville, FL. Kristin was most proud and loyal to her children and did everything imaginable to help them become successful. Always concerned with helping others, she loved a good party or a good book and was always willing to try a new recipe. She was also great at planning and organizing events and loved collecting antiques. Kristin will be remembered for having cared for many cats and dogs that needed a good home. She is survived by her son, Mike Harden and wife, Misty of Dacula, GA; their sons, Micah and Mattox; her daughter, Kelli Winkel and husband, Mike of Alachua, FL and their son, Blake. Kelli also has twins on the way! Kristin is also survived by a special friend and companion, Dennis "Petey" Armstrong of Deerfield; her brother, Owen Botkin of Alexandria; niece, Rachel Santino and nephew, Daniel Botkin. Kristin was predeceased by her brother, Robin. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at McDowell Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Beth Pyles officiating. Burial will follow in Headwaters Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bob Ralston, Mike Ralston, Mark Ralston, Mike McCray, Jerry Warner, Carson Snyder and Bobby Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service. There will be fellowship and a meal following the interment at the Stonewall Ruritan Building. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Headwaters Cemetery, 14952 Highland Turnpike, Headwaters, VA 24442.
