Kenton Marshall Rexrode, 86, died Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born November 4, 1915, in Blue Grass, a son of the late Eugene Russell and Effie Simmons Rexrode.
On August 10, 1937, he married Marie Puffenbarger Rexrode, who survives.
He was a livestock farmer, a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, a trustee of both the church and its cemetery, and he enjoyed doing carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dayton Fout Rexrode.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Betty R. and Wayne P. Grant of Waynesboro; daughter, Patricia R. Smith of Waynesboro; one brother, Eugene Russell Rexrode of Blue Grass; a sister, Ruby Josephine Rexrode of Hightown; three grandsons, Scott and Shawn Smith and Paxton Grant; one granddaughter, Lora Grant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Unite Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard S. Gibson and Andre Crummett with private burial in the Union Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
