Kennie Roosevelt Puffenbarger, 86, of Blue Grass, died Monday night, April 18, 1994 at the residence of his son at Franklin, WV following an extended illness.
He was born at Blue Grass on Sept. 15, 1907 and was a son of Si and Lucy (Slayton) Puffenbarger.
He wife, Maude Puffenbarger, preceded him in death.
He was a retired self-employed mechanic, and was a member of the Forks of the Water United Brethren Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Dorothy Hevener of Monterey, Mamie Faulkner of Verona and Julia Ann Puffenbarger of Lynchburg; four sons, Carl of Franklin, WV, Robert of Wenatchee, Wash., Ray of Harrisonburg and Charles Puffenbarger of Staunton; three step-daughters, Jo Ann Hinkle of Loversdillion, Ruth Ann Puffenbarger of Riverton, WV, and Jeannie Puffenbarger of Waynesboro; a step-son Lawrence A. Puffenbarger of Bridgewater, Alice Arbogast of Blue Grass & Dorothy Van of Virginia Beach; 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Turner, with burial at Blue Grass Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home at McDowell. Memorials may be made to the Highland County Rescue Squad, Box 268, Monterey, Va. 24465.
