June Kitty O’Roark, 74, of Monterey, died on March 15, 2012 at her home.
She was born on June 5, 1937 at Balham, England, a daughter of the late Ernest E. and Kitty L. Veazey of Orpington Kent, England.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Lynn O’Roark.
June arrived in the United States on Nov. 15, 1965. She and her husband lived in Midland for 20 years; in Manteo, N.C., for 12 years; in Culpeper for two years, and currently resided in Monterey. While living in Midland, June worked for the Fauquier Times-Democrat as an accounts receivable clerk. She also worked at Leggett’s as a sales associate and with WPRZ Radio in advertising. While on the Outer Banks, she worked as a visitor representative for the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau. She and her husband served as foster parents to three children through the Virginia Baptist Children’s Home.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Timothy Eustace O’Roark; her son and his wife, Timothy Edward and Katherine O’Roark of Culpeper; one granddaughter, Julie Lynn O'Roark of Culpeper; foster daughter, Shannon Mililetto, of Ingleside, Ill.; a brother and his wife, Ernest and Christine Veazey of Poole Dorset, England.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton.
Interment was at the Eustace Family Cemetery in Calverton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 302 Jackson River Road, Monterey, Va. 24465, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 217, Culpeper, Va. 22701, with Relay for Life-Highland County, Va. marked in the memo line.
