Juanita "May" Welcher

May 20, 1930 — October 1, 2008

Juanita “May” Welcher, 78, of Staunton, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Augusta Medical Center.  She was born May 20, 1930 at Doe Hill a daughter of the late David Clinton and Leda Jane (Siron) Siron.

Mrs. Welcher was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene.  She retired from Western State Hospital and was also a waitress at Woolworths.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred A. Beverage, Sr., her second husband, William L. Welcher; two daughters, Donna Kay and Christine Beverage; a brother, David “Lenny” Siron and two sisters, Opal and Iva Siron.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Fred A. Jr., and Debbie Beverage of Staunton; two grandchildren, Amanda and David Beverage, both of Staunton and a sister, Helen S. Cash of Staunton.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Pastor Charles Perkins officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Vernon Wooddell, Rudolph Siron, Toby Siron, Bill Huffman, Jack Beverage and Paul Stinnett.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Lee Samples, Betty Arbaugh, Connie Swisher, Lisa Hodge, Becky Dever, Adeline Hull and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
