Joshua Adam Brock, age 31, of Clemmons, NC, left this world to rest in peace on Friday, March 14th, 2025 as a result of a tractor trailer accident in Chappell, Nebraska.
He was born October 9th, 1993 in South Hill, VA to Sheryl Y. Brock and David A. Herber.
A man of strong faith, Joshua attended Revo Church in Winston-Salem. When not working as an Over the Road Truck Driver for Cargo Transporters, Joshua enjoyed golfing and cherished spending time with his wife and two girls. Most of Joshua’s summers growing up were spent on the family farm, Pleasant Brook Farms in Monterey, VA. In the winter he could be found in the woods tapping maple trees in preparation for the Maple Festival. During the Maple Festival, Joshua would help The Mill Gap Ruritans in their maple donut trailer. With his infectious laugh and loving heart, Joshua will be remembered as a soul that didn’t know a stranger and one who would strike up a conversation with anyone.
Joshua is survived by his wife of five years, Chelsea E. (Nicholson) Brock of Clemmons; his two beautiful girls, Joshua is survived by his wife of five years, Chelsea E. (Nicholson) Brock of Clemmons; his two beautiful girls, Harper Ruth and Emersyn Clare Brock; his mother, Sheryl Y. Brock and husband, Robert Smith of Fishersville, VA; father, David A. Herber of Amelia, VA; maternal grandmother, Phyllis H. Brock of Monterey, VA; brothers, David Herber II and wife, Jennifer of Austin, TX, Brian Herber of New Braunfels, TX, Richard Herber of Lake, MI, and Christian Brock and wife, Burgundy of Monterey, VA; sister, Jolynne Brock and boyfriend, Caleb of Fishersville, VA; uncles, Greg Herber, Doug Herber, and Jim Herber and wife, Maria all of Amelia, VA; bonus siblings, Jackson Nicholson and girlfriend, Samantha of Rocky Mount, VA, and Selena Gillispie and husband, Dylan of Concord; bonus parents, David and Kimya Nicholson of Winston-Salem; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Joshua was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Herber; maternal grandfather, Clarence “Joe” Brock; maternal great-grandparents, Dwight and Gladys Harper; and paternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth “Nanny” Ramsey.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, with pastor Chip Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Monterey Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Christian Brock, Jolynne Brock, David Herber, Brian Herber, Richard Herber, Jackson Nicholson, and Clay Hicks.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, as well as during a meal of fellowship at Beulah Presbyterian Church following the interment.
