Josephine Pearl Pullin, 85, of Staunton, died Thursday, March 16, 2000, at Augusta Medical Center.
She was born January 21, 1915, at McDowell, a daughter of Henry C. and Mary Louise (Hupman) Eagle.
In January 1941, she married Melvin Jones Pullin, who preceded her in death on February 3, 1989.
She was a member of Doe Hill United Methodist Church. She retired from the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Belva G. and Bill Clark, of Staunton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gilbert J. and Carolyn Pullin, of Churchville and Lynn R. and Donna Pullin of Waynesboro; three sisters, Lucile Hahn, of Lynchburg, Nora Rutherford, of Fincastle and Nellie Richards, of Madison heights; two brothers, Henry of Head Waters and Roscoe Eagle of Falls Church; an uncle, Ray Eagle of Doe Hill; 10 grandchildren, Dana, berry, Terry, Victor and Jamie Pullin, Rina Pitzer, Michelle Botkin, Bert Shiflett, Adam and Chad Ellinger; and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Brenda Rose, with burial at McDowell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Samuel and Henry Rutherford, Kenly and Steve Richards, Arnold Wooddell and Frank Pullin.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 7-9 Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 330 Driscoll St., Staunton.
