Josephine Fox

Josephine Estelle Fox, 80, of Monterey, died on Saturday, April 25, 1998 at her residence. She was born January 13, 1918, at Monterey, a daughter of Ira Dean and Sally (McLaughlin) Gutshall.

She was a member of Monterey United Methodist Church. She was an elementary school teacher in Highland and Fairfax counties, and also served as principal in Fairfax County. She was a past member of the Monterey Garden Club.

On June 22, 1946, she married Charles B. Fox Jr., who survives. Also surviving are a sister, Dehlia Armstrong, and a brother, Woodrow L. Gutshall of Staunton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Monterey Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Haley.

There will be no public viewing. The body is at Obaugh Funeral Home.
