John Kelly Sweet, 55, of Blue Grass, died Sunday, August 7, 2005 at Augusta Medical Center.
He was born March 25, 1950 at Acme, W.Va., a son of the late James Kelly and Grace Will Sweet.
Mr. Sweet was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He had worked for Gates and Fox at Bath County Pumped Storage Project and for Hanover Shoe Co. in Franklin, W.Va. His hobby was computers and computer repair.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers and an infant sister.
He is survived by a son, James Kelly Sweet and his fiancé, Rebecca Martin of Blue Grass; a grandson, Laird Allen Sweet; two sisters, Toby S. Swecker and her husband John M. of Blue Grass and Mary Herold of Aiken, S.C.; a brother William H. Sweet and wife Margery of Berryville; his companion and best friend, Mary H. Will and nephew, Chris Swecker of Blue Grass.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 13, at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Joe Bradford and Bishop David Hartman.
Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.
The body was cremated.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
