John Michael

July 2, 1918 — October 14, 2000

John Michael, 82, of Monterey died Saturday evening, October 14, 2000 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

He had been a resident at Marshall Manor in Marshall for a short time.

He was born July 2, 1918, in Philadelphia the only child of John Sr. and Marry Cherry Michael.

He had been an electrician at Frankford Arsenal and retired in 1975. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of Highland Lodge 110 AF&AM and was a Shriner in the LuLu Temple, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Amelia I. (Vance) Michael of Monterey; four nieces; four nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn with burial in the Monterey Cemetery with Masonic rites at the committal.

Pallbearers will be John and Robin Vance, Ernest Jr. and David Lightner, H.H. Whitelaw, Gale Jessee and Ricky and Gary Dunn.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends  attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at the funeral home.
