John Lockridge

August 18, 1948 — October 5, 2002

John Ervin Lockridge, 54, of Williamsville, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 in a farm related accident. He was born Augusta 18, 1948 at Hot Springs a son of the late John Leo and Ann McClintic Lockridge.

On May 1, 2002 he married Mae Loan.

Mr. Lockridge was a farmer. He was a member of the Williamsville Presbyterian Church, the Valley Spring Masonic Lodge #265; the Millboro Masonic #28, Hot Springs Shriners, Bath-Highland Volunteer Fire Department and the Virginia Cattlemans Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Lockridge of Williamsville; a daughter, Beatrice Lockridge and Billy Pritt of Williamsville; a son, John Andrew Lockridge of Williamsville; a step-son and his wife, Steven and Theresa Evans of Staunton; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Cameron Lockridge of Williamsville; three grandchildren, James Ervin and Dusty Ray Pritt and Leah Ann-Marie Lockridge and an aunt Rebecca Tankersley of the Springs Nursing Home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday October 8, 2002 at the Williamsville Presbyterian Church by Larry Brunson and the Rev. Carl Rush.

Burial will be in the McClintic Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jim Tennant, Noel Hull, Clint McDonald, Grayson Woods, Mike Stovall, Ronald Vaught, Brad Mawyers and Jack Lindsay.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, October 7, 2002 at the Obaugh Funeral and other times at the home. There will be no public viewing.
