John H. Green, age 73, of Churchville, died Sunday, January 7, 2007 at King’s Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born February 17, 1933 at Albert, WV a son of the late Lomo McClellan and Rady Ann (Weese) Green.
Mr. Green was a member of Parnassus United Methodist Church and also attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church. He was a retired auto mechanic with Hays Chevrolet. He enjoyed camping, hunting and time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lomo Green, Jr. and a sister, Lucille Randolph.
He is survived by his wife, Leoda S. Green; three sons and daughters-in-law, John Michael and Shelia Green of Stuarts Draft, William David and Libby Green of Hampton and Donald L. and Penny Green of Harrisonburg; two grandsons, Brian Green of Churchville, Jonathan Green of Hampton; three step-grandsons, Adam Marshall of Staunton, Chad Marshall of Weyers Cave and Derek Trumbo of New Market; a step-granddaughter, Leslie Payne of Manassas; a step-great-grandson, Daniel Trumbo and a foster-great-grandson, Benjamin Funk and two brothers, James L. Green of Churchville and Robert Wayne Green of Hanover, PA.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery by Pastor Denny Sites and Mr. Harold Fry.
Active pallbearers will be Derek Trumbo, Jonathan Green, Dale Roudabush, Chad and Adam Marshall and Jason Falls.
The family will received friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the home (140 Moffett Branch Rd, Churchville).
