John William Doores

John William Doores, 55, of Bastian and formerly of Mustoe, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Bland County Nursing and Rehab.

He was born August 21, 1967 in Fairfax, a son of William Harold Doores of Warrenton and Martha Mae (Murray) Hutchison of Mustoe.

John, with his easy-going nature and wonderful sense of humor, got along with nearly everyone and always made it a point to make time for others. He loved to write and share stories, enjoyed tinkering with computers and helping many individuals as a computer technician. He was an excellent photographer, capturing many amazing photographs throughout his life. John also loved music, amassing a huge music library and had been a disc jockey in Hampton for many years. Even when he was suffering greatly from chronic pain, John maintained his beautiful spirit and smile, never wishing to share his burden. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he shared with family and friends and was greatly loved in return, he will be truly missed.

He was predeceased by his step-father, Jim Hutchison.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Margaret Catharine Jennings and husband, Kristian of Mustoe; step-mother, Rose Doores of Warrenton; step-sister, Anne Dessaint of Ledyard, CT; step-brother, James Hutchison of Quaker Hill, CT; uncles, David Murray and wife, Mary of Harpers Ferry, WV; William Murray and wife, Sharon of Inwood, WV, James Murray of Warrenton; aunts, Alberta Nelson and husband, Joe of Haywood and Yvonne Blevins of Manassas Park; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Monterey Cemetery.
