Jodie Blanche Simmons, 90, of Monterey, died on Friday, April 25, 1997 at Bridgewater Home, where she had been a resident for 12 years.
She was born on July 13, 1906 at Durbin, WV, a daughter of George Eunice and Luella (Simmons) Simmons.
On August 25, 1928, she was married to Perry Simmons, who died on December 17, 1966.
She was a homemaker, cleaned houses and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Joe of Mill gap and Perry E. Simmons of Lothian, Md.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Samuel Simmons.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Bill Moore with burial in Totten Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard, Frank, Vernon and Jack Simmons and Wickie and Jerry Hooke.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
