Joanie Marie Heavenrich

Joan “Joanie” Marie Heavenrich, age 80, wife of Kenny Armstrong of Doe Hill, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Augusta Medical in Fishersville.

She was born on March 2, 1945 in Newport News, VA, a daughter of the late Alvin Paul and Dorothy Alma (Leibzeit) Pribbernow.

Joanie had retired from Stonewall Grocery, where she was well regarded and known for her exceptional cooking and baking. She was a former member of both the Stonewall Ruritan Club and McDowell Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and canning, four-wheeler rides, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, which brought her immense happiness. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother, as well as a steadfast member of her community, who always went out of her way to help others.

In addition to her husband, surviving family members include her daughter, Constance “Connie” Heavenrich of Doe Hill; brother, Ernest Pribbernow and wife, Rosemary of Grand Blanc, MI; sisters, Pat Ehrhardt and husband, Dennis of Brooksville, FL, Diane Roberge of Homosassa, FL, and Peggy Rumper and husband, Harry of Clearwater, FL; a special young lady in Joanie’s life, McKinzy Rhodes of Dayton; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; as well as countless cherished friends.

In keeping with Joanie’s wishes, her body was cremated and no formal services will be held.
