Jeffrey Gale McGlaughlin, 69, of Churchville passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at his home.
He was born in the District of Columbia, April 28, 1951 the son of Cornelia Anne (Colaw) McGlaughlin of Hyattsville, Maryland and the late Charles Gale McGlaughlin.
A master electrician, Jeff was employed at Yoho Electric for many years. He and his wife faithfully attended Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church. He was a member of the Verona Moose Lodge 2172. Jeff loved bear hunting and enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. A wonderful husband, friend and selfless man, Jeff will be fondly remembered for his kindness and willingness to always help those in need.
In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his wife of 38 years Joan Alice (Kellison) McGlaughlin of Churchville; daughters, Kathy Brown of Staunton and Cindy Campbell of Churchville; granddaughters, Rhonda Brown and her significant other, Chad Smith, of Staunton, and Michelle Spradlin and significant other, Chris Lotts of Swoope, whom Jeff considered an extremely close friend; great-grandchildren, Samantha Spradlin and Austin Spradlin and fiancée, Courtney Back, all of Swoope; brother, Gerald McGlaughlin of Maryland; sisters, Cheryl McGlaughlin and Lori Schweich, both of Maryland; special cousin, Mary Ann Kuzniar of Staunton; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2p.m., Friday, October 23, 2020 at Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren Church with pastor George Etling officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
Active pallbearers will be Chris Lotts, Austin Spradlin, Duane Dean, Troy Ponton, Allen Yoho, Greg Yoho, Wyatt Lotts and Roger Harris.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Jerusalem Chapel Church Building Fund, c/o Lucy Plotner, 314 Chapel Road Churchville, Va. 24421.
