Jan Barrett

Jan Hull Barrett, 50, of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Augusta Health after a courageous battle with MDS Leukemia.  She was born December 8, 1959 in Harrisonburg a daughter of Carlton and Patricia (Wilfong) Hull.

Jan attended Word of Faith Church and had been employed at Marshall’s Inc. in Bridgewater and Mountain Hideaway Restaurant in Monterey.  She was an avid reader and loved to put puzzles together.

Survivors include her parents of Monterey; a sister, Carla Brown of Monterey; a brother, Billy Hull and wife, Lottie of Grottoes; two nephews, Joshua Brown of Monterey, whom she treated as a grandson and Treves Hull of Grottoes; a niece, Ellena Hull of Grottoes; loving aunts and uncles, Scott and Linda Wilfong of Manassas, Douglas and Betty Jo Rexrode of Churchville, Ernie Nuckols of Staunton, Raymond and Mary Glenn Hiner of Dayton, Dorothy Ford of Emerald Isle, NC and Gary Samples of Florida; and a number of cousins, including two special cousins, Cindy Marshall of Staunton and Melissa Scott of Front Royal.

A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Word of Faith Church with the Pastor Chip Hill and the Rev. Melissa Litrel-Harmon officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
