James Henry “Jim” Siron, 46, of McDowell, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 7, 1964 in Staunton, a son of Frances Puffenbarger Siron and the late Boyd DeWitt Siron.
He had owned and operated Siron’s Body Shop. He was a member of McDowell United Methodist Church and a life member of McDowell Volunteer Fire Department. He was a great NASCAR fan, enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, mowing his neighbors’ grass on his John Deere and spending time with his many friends.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Siron of McDowell; a son, James “Evan” Siron of Weyers Cave; a brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Kristie Siron; a nephew, Justin Siron; a niece, Jessie Siron, all of McDowell; and his devoted dog, Rosie.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2011 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Lester LaPrade officiating. Burial will be in the Siron Family Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Scottie Armstrong, Kevin Neil, Steve Armstrong, Dale Botkin, Roger Smith, Craig Smith, Todd Duncan and Kyle Obaugh. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Neil and members of McDowell Volunteer Fire Department.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
