James “Jim” S. Campbell, 54, of Staunton, died Thursday, July 1, 1999 at the Jefferson Park Center.
He was born April 18, 1945 at Staunton, son of James Brown Jr. and Kring (Woods) Campbell.
He retired from the Augusta Correctional Center and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the Hightown United Methodist Church, Staunton Moose Lodge #1635, the National Rifle Association, and VFW Post #2216.
In addition to his parents, surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Ann Yoakem of Strong City, Kan., and Tawnya Lynn Campbell of Staunton; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Christopher Yoakem of Strong City; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucinda and Eugene Sprouse of Craigsville, and Deborah and Harold Argenbright of Mount Solon; a brother, Donald W. Campbell of Staunton; and a foster sister, Nina Hise of Staunton.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Joseph C. Bradford. Burial will be in the Hightown Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Campbell, Eugene Sprouse Jr., Barry Argenbright, Robbie Campbell, Howard Schutz, Allen Windsor, Darrell Carter and Gary Sheffer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Douglas Windsor, Harry Falls, George Hitt, Sandy Allen, Janice Hitt and Terry Bright.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
