James "A.J." Allen White, 66, of Staunton, passed away September 21, 2019 at his home.
He was born in Staunton, on July 26, 1953 a son of the late Jimmy and Joyce (Carter) White.
A well-established auto mechanic, he owned and operated Valley Motors for 34 years. He belonged to the NRA as well as the Izaak Walton League.
He enjoyed being outdoors, most especially spending his time hunting and fishing. He will be remembered as a self-less man, who placed others before himself and worked hard to ensure his was family was provided for.
A.J. is survived by his companion, Brenda Zimmerman of Staunton; daughters, Chrissy Bruce of Waynesboro and Taylor White of Staunton; sons, Robert White of Oklahoma, Kevin Almarode of Mill Gap and Keith Almarode of Lebanon; sister, Julie Martin of Staunton; step-father, R. D. Newlen of Staunton; as well as 10 grandchildren, Abel and Abbigail Green, Jonathan White, Haley, Cooper and Caleb Almarode, Cierra and Jasmine Bruce, Zoe Gullett and Casey Trent.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 25 at Green Hill Cemetery, Mill Gap with pastor Bobbi Jo Gardner officiating.
