James Otha Pitsenbarger, 77, of Staunton, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Jan. 7, 1934 in Pendleton County, W.Va., a son of the late Benjamin Cameron and Dorothy Louella Simmons Pitsenbarger.
Mr. Pitsenbarger was a member of Jollivue United Methodist Church. He was a truck driver and enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, cutting wood and going to auction sales.
Mr. Pitsenbarger was a good husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Glendola Smith Pitsenbarger; and two brothers, Homer and Dolen Pitsenbarger.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara G. Pitsenbarger, whom he married May 25, 1985; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy L. and Dennis Riley of Raphine; son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Marie Pitsenbarger of Staunton; grandson, D.J. Riley of Raphine; step-son, Harry L. Smith of Crimora; three step-grandchildren, Teresa, Harry Jr., and Jeremy Smith; sister, Imogene Hoover of Harrisonburg; brother, Virgil Pitsenbarger and wife, Retha of Franklin, W.Va.; and three half-sisters, Edna Bennett, Linda Holsinger and Dorothy Jean Persinger.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Frank Hall and the Rev. Dave Boger of- ficiating.
Burial was in Totten Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeff, Mark and Gary Pitsenbarger, Roger Ruddle, Greg Hammer and Jeff Rader.
