James Hull

James Lee Hull, age 87, of Monterey, died Friday, April 7, 2006 at Bath Community Hospital.  He was born November 25, 1918 near Monterey a son of the late James Ira and Fannie Lee (Dixon) Hull.

On June 20, 1946, he married Phyllis Marcella Leahy, who preceded him in death on October 12, 1993.  He was also predeceased by four brothers, Clarence, Russell, Glenn and Darrell Hull; two sisters, Lottie Gutshall and Ora Fulton and three infant siblings.

Mr. Hull retired from Aileen, Inc. and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, having served as a medic in the Pacific Theatre.  He was an avid hunter and gardener.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy H. and Randy Hooke of Monterey; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Cappie S. Hull of Hightown; four grandsons, John I. Hull, Jacob F. Hull, Nick Hooke and Ryan T. Hooke; a sister, Janet Armstrong of Monterey; a brother, Matlin Hull of Monterey and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, April 10, 2006 in Monterey Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be the grandsons and Gary and Dennis Hull, Jim Zirkle and Michael Armstrong.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Varner, Dick Eagle, Bill Niswander, Paul and Sam Colaw, Elmer and Olin Waybright, Jim and Joe Will, Dale Hammer and Mac Hill.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
