James Kirkpatrick

James Michael “Mike” Kirkpatrick, 51, of Staunton, passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at his home.

He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on December 31, 1969, a son of the late Glenna Dale (Puffenbarger) and Dean Shannon Kirkpatrick.

A doting father, Michael loved to spend time baking, watching movies and playing board games with his daughter, BJ. They also enjoyed walks at Gypsy Hill Park, swimming there and feeding the ducks.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jean “BJ” Kirkpatrick and her mother, Michele of Staunton; two brothers, Eugene and Timothy Kirkpatrick, both of Roanoke; half-brothers, Dean Kirkpatrick Jr. of Carrollton, Ohio and Bobby Kirkpatrick of the Philippines; two half-sisters, Grace Kochan of Great Pass, OR and Regina Kutcher of Marietta, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; as well as special cousins, Penny Booth, Debbie Burns, Patsy Rexrode and Peggy Pitsenbarger.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a half-sister, Vickie O’Neil.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 12, 2021 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Rev. Carrie Moffitt officiating.  The committal portion of the service will follow in McKendree Cemetery.
