James Brown Campbell Jr., 78, of Staunton and formerly of Hightown, died Sunday, June 15, 2003 at his residence.
He was born May 30, 1925 in Monterey a son of the late James B. and Lorene (Terry) Campbell.
On August 1, 1943, he married Kring Woods.
Mr. Campbell retired from American Safety Razor. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Stewart Campbell and a brother, Harl Manning Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Kring Campbell; two daughters, Lucina C. Sprouse and her husband, Eugene of Craigsville; Deborah C. Argenbright and her husband, Harold of Mt. Solon; a son, Donald Wayne Campbell of Staunton; five grandchildren, Aaron B. Campbell, Eugene M. Sprouse, Jr., Jason M. Sprouse, Kimberly A. Yoakum and Tawnya L. Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Alex Sprouse, Vanessa and Christopher Yoakum and a special great-grandchild, A.J. Campbell.
The Rev. Lester LaPrade will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at Obaugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hightown Cemetery.
Active pallbearers be Barry Argenbright, Herman Puffenbarger, Patrick Meadows, Eugene Sprouse, Allen Windsor and Robert Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
