Irene Simmons

BLUE GRASS Irene Dare "Tean" Simmons, 79, of Blue Grass passed away, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She was born May 14, 1933 in Blue Grass a daughter of the late Fleet and Lona Ellen (Eye) Rexrode. Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Word of Faith Church and Highland Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker and had also worked at Aileen, Inc. for 20 years and Hanover Shoe Company. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed putting puzzles together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Boyd Simmons on November 13, 1984 and her sister, Mary Critchfield. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Jackie Will of Blue Grass; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Vivian Terry of Monterey; Marshall "Bub" and Debra Simmons of Riverton, WV and Garth and Cathy Simmons of Blue Grass; four grandchildren, Lori Simmons and husband, Chris, Amanda Dray and husband, Joseph, Aaron and Brett Will; two great-grandchildren Kayla and Cameron Simmons; sister, Aretta Kronert of Chicago, IL and her brother, Charles "Saul" Rexrode of Staunton. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Pastor Chip Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Grass Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron and Brett Will, Cameron and Chris Simmons, Joseph Dray and Chris Royal. Friends may call at Obaugh Funeral Home.
