Ina Lavelle (Warner) Pitsenbarger, 91, formerly of Monterey, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, WV.
She was born in Circleville, WV on December 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Emory John and Tena Catherine (Judy) Warner. On April 11, 1952, she married Herbert Leo Pitsenbarger, who preceded her in death February 16, 1994.
A child care provider, Ina was known for her cooking and baking, especially her banana pudding and homemade rolls. She was a hard worker and could often be found volunteering with the Mill Gap and Blue Grass Ruritan clubs. She also enjoyed time spent attending Hightown United Methodist Church and working in her garden. Recently, she enjoyed search word puzzles and adult coloring books. She was an avid sports fan, who loved watching her teams, the Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees. Additionally, she enjoyed listening to gospel, bluegrass and old country music. Above all, Ina will be remembered as a very caring mother and loving grandmother.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Adam Pitsenbarger; great-granddaughter, Emorie Fox; great-grandbaby Pitsenbarger; brothers, Roy “Butch,” Olie “Bardon,” and infant brother, Richard; sister, Mary W. Tenney; as well as a half-sister, Marie Cobb.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ord and husband, Rick of Franklin, WV; four sons, Jim of Hot Springs, Steve and wife, Theresa of Monterey, Mike of Amelia and Tom of McDowell; five brothers, Emory “Buddy” of Green Bank, WV, Ray and Gene, both of Beverly, WV, Steve of Valley Bend, WV and Kenneth Warner of Elkins, WV; two sisters, Linda Cross of Beverly, WV and Kitty W. Ball of Elkins, WV; grandchildren, Alisha Botkin, Malorie Brower, Jenna Pitsenbarger, Hillary Fox and Shane Pitsenbarger; as well as great-grandchildren, Aiden and Austin Botkin, Emma and Finley Brower and Karson, Aryan and Kaide Fox.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with pastor Ray Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Hightown Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Adam Botkin, Brendan Brower, Herb Lightner, Rick Ord, Ronnie Botkin and Corey and Tyler Lightner.
