Hubert Morton Halterman, 76, died Thursday, September 6, 2001 at his home.
He was born November 24, 1924 at Monterey a son of William Mercer and Elsie (Propst) Halterman.
He was an Army veteran of World War II; he served in Company C, 320 Infantry, 35 th Division. He was retired from the Bath County Pump Storage Project and also had been employed at Valley Paving and the Virginia Trout Company.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilburt, Ott, Virgil, Howard and Melvin Halterman; and two sisters, Sadie Folks and Eva Simmons.
Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Naomi (Curry) Halterman; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen D. and Norma Jean Halterman of Millboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Norman Harold of Clifton Forge; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Lucas, Elizabeth and Chase Halterman and Brandy, Lacey and Lindsay Harold; a sister, Juanita Rexrode of Monterey; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ginn officiating.
Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eugene Halterman, Sheril Simmons, Glenn Halterman, Michael Venettozzi, Michael Venettozzi Jr., Marlin Rexrode and Ezra Halterman.
Honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
