Homer Roy Snyder, 83, of Head Waters, died Monday, August 2, 2004 at his residence.
He was born June 10, 1921 at Doe Hill, a son of the late William Roy and Rosie Leona Via Snyder.
On May 18, 1945, he married Ora Mae Puffenbarger.
Mr. Snyder was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific Theater.
He had worked as a plumber for R.W. Bridges Plumbing & Heating in Staunton and had worked for Neil’s Logging in McDowell, as well as being a farmer.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hatcher and half-brother, Carson Via.
He is survived by his wife, Ora Mae Snyder of Head Waters; a daughter and son-in-law, Doris J. and Ray H. Hodge of Staunton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carson and Sandra Snyder of Staunton and Garry W. and Linda D. Snyder of Augusta County; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Lula Virginia Wimer of Lakeland, Fla.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the Crummett Run Cemetery by the Rev. Lester LaPrade.
Active pallbearers will be Larry Nelson Simmons, Ronnie Miller, Wayne Puffenbarger, William Dudley, Charles Varner and Gerald Travis.
